It contains 13 villages and 5 towns with a combined population of about 24,732. The largest are Karasungur (2,225), Karaçevre (2,218), and Başaklı (2,036). Its nearest neighbours are Üçtepe (16 km), Kazancı (17 km), and Ambar (17 km). It was established in 1937.
