Know Myanmar?

Nobody has written down what this place sounds like yet. If you live here, grew up here, or your family is from here, you know things this page does not — the artists, the music, the places people actually go.

You do not have to be an expert. Being from here is the qualification.

Why Is TimTim.Live Singing About a Place I Love?

A personal note about why TimTim.Live is here in Myanmar.

Read the Story

More than 304 million people live outside the country where they were born.

And hundreds of millions more carry another country, city, town or village in their hearts — through parents, grandparents, family, memories, culture, friendship and love.

Maybe you are one of them.

Maybe Myanmar is where you were born. Or maybe Myanmar became part of your story another way.

Maybe your parents came from here. Maybe someone you love still lives here. Maybe you visited once and never forgot it. Or maybe it is simply a place you hope to see someday.

That is why TimTim.Live is here.

Home is not always the place where you sleep tonight.

The rhythm I carry on this journey comes from the Haitian Konpa I grew up with. It is the music of my childhood, my memories and part of who I am.

Today, through TimTim.Live, I am taking that rhythm with me on a musical journey around the world — creating songs inspired by countries, cities, towns, villages, people and places I have visited, places I have learned about, and places I still dream of discovering someday.

Myanmar is a place I am still learning about, and one I hope to discover someday.

But I want something to be very clear:

I am not trying to replace the music of Myanmar or speak for its people.

I am sharing the music I grew up with as a musical greeting from my home to yours.

From Haiti… and now my hometown of Washington, DC, USA… to wherever you call home.

Music does not need a passport.

A melody does not ask what country is printed on your passport. You do not have to speak the same language. You do not have to come from the same country. You don’t even have to understand every word.

Music asks only one question:

Will you listen?

And if you hear a Haitian Konpa beat carrying the name or memory of a place close to your heart, I hope it makes you smile.

I hope hearing Myanmar makes you think about someone you love.

I hope it reminds you of someone. I hope it brings back loving memories.

And for those of us living far from the places where we grew up, I hope that for a few minutes… home feels a little closer.

If you carry stories about Myanmar, I want to hear them.

Tell me about its people. Tell me about its music. Tell me what makes it special.

Tell me about the places someone should see, the stories they should know, and the things people who were born there never forget.

Tell Us About Myanmar

TimTim.Live should not only sing about places. It should help the people who love them be heard. That is why the TimTim.Live platform is now open to artists worldwide.

I, TimTim.Live the artist, want to help people remember, discover and stay connected to a place dear to their heart.

Know someone who misses Myanmar?

Send them the music. Send them the memory. Send them a free TimTim.Live Musical Postcard and say: “I heard this and thought about you.”

Because sometimes a song can travel thousands of miles and bring someone home for a few minutes.

And if the Konpa rhythm makes you move… I want to dance with you.

Welcome to TimTim.Live — Konpa to the World.

From the places we come from, to wherever life takes us.

Music does not need a passport.

A sample: how a business in Myanmar would use TimTim.Live

Nothing below is real. It is an example, so you can see how it works before deciding whether to join.

What happens, step by step

  1. 1Find your business, or add it. Both are free.
  2. 2Fill in your page — photos, hours, what you do.
  3. 3Create an offer. Free to make, free to run.
  4. 4TimTim shows it to people exploring this place.
  5. 5A curator recommends it to people who trust them.
  6. 6An ambassador shares it with the community.
  7. 7A customer taps the link — and the tap is counted.
  8. 8They claim or redeem the offer.
  9. 9The sale is verified before anything else happens.
  10. 10Revenue is attributed to whoever helped.
  11. 11Your dashboard updates.
  12. 12Only then does TimTim's agreed fee apply.

In this example TimTim's agreed fee is 10% of verified sales — so $124 of the $1,240, and the business keeps $1,116.

The real rate is agreed with each business before any offer can charge anything. There is no fee on a sale TimTim did not help create.
