How TimTim.Live news works
Every place on TimTim.Live has its own news. Here is how we choose it, in plain words.
Where the news comes from
We collect headlines from about a thousand news sources around the world: newspapers, music magazines, radio stations and official travel advice.
Every headline links to the publisher who wrote it. The publisher's name is always on the card.
What we show
We show the headline and a link, nothing more. We never copy or rewrite a publisher's article. To read the story, you go to the publisher.
Why a story is on a place
A story appears on a place only for a real reason, and the card says which one:
- the publisher is from that place;
- the headline names the place;
- an artist in the story is from that place;
- a show in the story happens there.
When a place has no news of its own yet, we show news from the region, the country and the world, and each card is marked Local, Regional, National, Diaspora or Global.
What we leave out
Stories about crime, violence or terror never appear on a place. They are held for a person to look at.
Stories about accidents and deaths are marked so a person can check them, and they never appear on travel news.
Our own story pages
Some stories have a TimTim.Live page. It adds what we know about the artists and places in the story: where the artist is from, their next shows, and their other news. It is never a copy of the article.
A story gets a page only when it is about an artist we can confirm, from a place we know. Search engines see it only when we have at least 3 facts of our own to add.
Diaspora news
A country's page also shows news from the countries its largest communities come from. Those communities come from official figures:

Corrections
If a story is on the wrong place, or should not be shown, we take it off every page at once and write down why.
