Know Wakayama?

Nobody has written down what this place sounds like yet. If you live here, grew up here, or your family is from here, you know things this page does not — the artists, the music, the places people actually go.

You do not have to be an expert. Being from here is the qualification.

Why Is TimTim.Live Singing About a Place I Love?

A personal note about why TimTim.Live is here in Wakayama.

Read the Story

Wakayama, Japan

More than 304 million people live outside the country where they were born.

And hundreds of millions more carry another country, city, town or village in their hearts — through parents, grandparents, family, memories, culture, friendship and love.

Maybe you are one of them.

If your memories lead back to Wakayama, this musical greeting is for you.

Maybe your parents came from here. Maybe someone you love still lives here. Maybe you visited once and never forgot it. Or maybe it is simply a place you hope to see someday.

That is why TimTim.Live is here.

You can build a new life somewhere else and still carry an old home in your heart.

I grew up with the sound of Haitian Konpa. It is the music of my childhood, my memories and part of who I am.

Today, through TimTim.Live, I am taking that rhythm with me on a musical journey around the world — creating songs inspired by countries, cities, towns, villages, people and places I have visited, places I have learned about, and places I still dream of discovering someday.

Wakayama is a place I am still learning about, and one I hope to discover someday.

But I want something to be very clear:

This song is not meant to define the culture of Wakayama. Its own artists and traditions tell that story better than I ever could.

I am sharing the music I grew up with as a musical greeting from my home to yours.

From Haiti… and now my hometown of Washington, DC, USA… to wherever you call home.

Music does not need a passport.

Music can cross a border long before we do. You do not have to speak the same language. You do not have to come from the same country. You don’t even have to understand every word.

Music asks only one question:

Will you listen?

And if you hear a Haitian Konpa beat carrying the name or memory of a place close to your heart, I hope it makes you smile.

I hope hearing Wakayama makes you think about someone you love.

I hope it reminds you of someone. I hope it brings back loving memories.

And for those of us living far from the places where we grew up, I hope that for a few minutes… home feels a little closer.

If you know Wakayama better than I do, teach me something about it.

Tell me about its people. Tell me about its music. Tell me what makes it special.

Tell me about the places someone should see, the stories they should know, and the things people who were born there never forget.

Tell Us About Wakayama

TimTim.Live should not only sing about places. It should help the people who love them be heard. That is why the TimTim.Live platform is now open to artists worldwide.

I, TimTim.Live the artist, want to help people remember, discover and stay connected to a place dear to their heart.

Know someone who misses Wakayama?

Send them the music. Send them the memory. Send them a free TimTim.Live Musical Postcard and say: “I heard this and thought about you.”

Send a Free Musical Postcard

Because sometimes a song can travel thousands of miles and bring someone home for a few minutes.

And if the Konpa rhythm makes you move… I want to dance with you.

Welcome to TimTim.Live — Konpa to the World.

From the places we come from, to wherever life takes us.

Music does not need a passport.

The real rate is agreed with each business before any offer can charge anything. There is no fee on a sale TimTim did not help create.
