Argentina

More than 304 million people live outside the country where they were born.

And hundreds of millions more carry another country, city, town or village in their hearts — through parents, grandparents, family, memories, culture, friendship and love.

Maybe you are one of them.

If you were born in Argentina, have family there, or simply carry it in your heart, this note is for you.

Maybe your parents came from here. Maybe someone you love still lives here. Maybe you visited once and never forgot it. Or maybe it is simply a place you hope to see someday.

That is why TimTim.Live is here.

You can build a new life somewhere else and still carry an old home in your heart.

The rhythm I carry on this journey comes from the Haitian Konpa I grew up with. It is the music of my childhood, my memories and part of who I am.

Today, through TimTim.Live, I am taking that rhythm with me on a musical journey around the world — creating songs inspired by countries, cities, towns, villages, people and places I have visited, places I have learned about, and places I still dream of discovering someday.

Argentina is a place I am still learning about, and one I hope to discover someday.

But I want something to be very clear:

This song is not meant to define the culture of Argentina. Its own artists and traditions tell that story better than I ever could.

I am sharing the music I grew up with as a musical greeting from my home to yours.

From Haiti… and now my hometown of Washington, DC, USA… to wherever you call home.

Music does not need a passport.

A melody does not ask what country is printed on your passport. You do not have to speak the same language. You do not have to come from the same country. You don’t even have to understand every word.

Music asks only one question:

Will you listen?

And if you hear a Haitian Konpa beat carrying the name or memory of a place close to your heart, I hope it makes you smile.

I hope the music carries you back to a memory of Argentina.

I hope it reminds you of someone. I hope it brings back loving memories.

And for those of us living far from the places where we grew up, I hope that for a few minutes… home feels a little closer.

If you carry stories about Argentina, I want to hear them.

Tell me about its people. Tell me about its music. Tell me what makes it special.

Tell me about the places someone should see, the stories they should know, and the things people who were born there never forget.

Tell Us About Argentina →

TimTim.Live should not only sing about places. It should help the people who love them be heard. That is why the TimTim.Live platform is now open to artists worldwide.

I, TimTim.Live the artist, want to help people remember, discover and stay connected to a place dear to their heart.

Because sometimes a song can travel thousands of miles and bring someone home for a few minutes.

And if the Konpa rhythm makes you move… I want to dance with you.

Welcome to TimTim.Live — Konpa to the World.

From the places we come from, to wherever life takes us.

Music does not need a passport.
