ହାଇଲାଇଫ ହେଉଛି ପଶ୍ଚିମି ଆଫ୍ରୀକା ନଚ ସଂଗୀତ ଯାହା ଗାନାର ପ୍ରାରମ୍ଭିକ ଶକାଳରେ ଆକାନ ମେଲୋଡିକ ଓ ରିଟିକ ପଶ୍ରେଣୀ ନଚ-ବେଣ୍ଡ ଉପକରଣରେ ମିଳିଲା । ଏହା ଏହି ସ୍ଥାନର ପ୍ରମୁଖ ସଙ୍ଗୀତର ଏକ ବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଭିତରେ ପରବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ଗୁଣଧର୍ମକୁ ସଜାଡ଼ିଥିଲା ।
Origin & history
Highlife developed in coastal Ghana in the early 1900s, as brass-band and dance-band instrumentation met local Akan musical traditions.
It spread to Nigeria and across West Africa through the mid-century, and its guitar styles and horn arrangements run underneath a great deal of later West African popular music, Afrobeats included.
