Why this initiative exists
One founder's story of dreams delayed and gratitude returned — now the emotional heart of every International Week of Gratitude.
Six of the places that shaped this story are also founding host locations for International Week of Gratitude.
Born on Haiti's southern coast — where the roots and the Konpa heritage begin.

Visit the Washington, D.C. page →“I left searching for opportunity. I return carrying a White Guitar, TimTim.Live Konpa, and a heart full of gratitude.”
Born in Haiti. Raised and educated in America. Inspired by the world. TimTim.Live Konpa proudly carries Haitian heritage while reflecting an American education, Jamaican musical inspiration, African rhythm, European experience, and friendships built across the world.
This isn't Haiti alone visiting the world — it's a Haitian-American journey, grounded in gratitude, meeting the culture of every host city it visits.
A Haitian boy left home with dreams.
America helped those dreams grow.
Business and life carried him around the world.
Some dreams succeeded. Some were interrupted. Some were delayed.
Family changed his path. Music eventually brought him back to himself.
He picked up the White Guitar again.
Instead of asking the world for something, he decided to return and say thank you.
That personal journey became International Week of Gratitude.
A white electric guitar bought in 1986 by an eighteen-year-old in Lynn, Massachusetts — sold years later to survive, and found again nearly forty years afterward. It's now the symbol of the founder's return to gratitude.
About tells the full biography — education, career, every chapter. This page tells the same true story through one lens: why it became International Week of Gratitude, and how each chapter connects to a founding host location.
The White Guitar Concert is the closing celebration of every Gratitude Week — see the concert details on the main International Week of Gratitude page.
